Yesterday, the Aquaponics group went on a field trip to visit a green house at Garinger High School. For Earth and Human Studies, Matt's group and Mrs. Nicole's group got to see their amazing aquaponics system, garden, and green house. We are excited to apply to our aquaponics system what we learned from theirs!
Today, the Omni Adolescents are making Chex Mix for snack. The Chex mix has Graham crackers, pretzels, marshmallows, and chocolate chips. The snack they make is very good, and we cannot wait for tomorrow's popsicles!
This video provides a small glimpse of what life at the Land Lab is really like. This is a stop motion film made from about 2,500 photos taken one day in October during our Harvest Festival preparations. Enjoy the show!
On Tuesday March 31, we successfully sold our Tilapia to The Carolina Fish Market. We have been growing our tilapia in our aquaponics lab for the past year. The tilapia were donated to us by a local farmer, John Lee. We have been working on this aquaponics project for the past 6 years and we are proud to have our first successful grow out. If you would like to support our program and a great local business you can purchase our fish at The Carolina Fish Market at the Cedar Walk shopping center on the corner of Ardrey Kell Road and Marvin Road.
